Today is Election Day. Practice Self-Care Today and Over the Next Few Weeks.

These are stressful times. Many of us are dealing with stress, anxiety, and fear over today's election and potential fall out over the next few weeks. With all that in mind, we wanted to pop into your inbox with a couple of quick reminders:

  1. You're not alone. We are all in this together. We are a family. We are here to support you. If you need anything, do not hesitate to email us.

  2. Regardless of what happens with the election, there will be lots of work to do as we continue to build a strong, enduring anti-racist community here in Golden.

We also wanted to share some resources for self-care:

  • Make Your Post-Election Self-Care Plan Now

  • 8 Questions That Can Help Ease Election Anxiety

  • Moving Forward Together: Election-Focused Conversations to Share Hopes, Concerns, Grief, and Anxiety

  • Moments of Peace: Religious and Secular 15-Minute Zoom Gatherings on Election Night

And finally, a few recommendations:

  • Do less. It's ok to take some time off to process.

  • Have someone in mind who you can call to vent or cry or celebrate or just talk.

  • Be ready to stop negative thought spirals, whatever that means for you (some suggestions: take your dog on a walk, do yoga, a crossword, etc).
